Cobalt Biofuels announced that Dr. Rick Wilson has been appointed to the position of Chief Executive Officer. Dr. Wilson comes to the company with over twenty years of global energy commercial and technology experience, recently including Vice President of British Petroleum’s Global Derivatives Chemicals business unit. Cobalt Biofuels founder Pamela Contag assumes role as Chief Technology Officer.

Cobalt Biofuels announced today it raised $25 million in equity to accelerate the commercialization of biobutanol, an advanced biofuel. The Series C equity round was co-led by LSP and Pinnacle Ventures and included both new and existing investors.
